Short Biography

Bud Tullis was born in 1938 in Long Beach, California. He received his Masters Degree in Art at Long Beach State University in 1976 and moved to his current home in Solvang, California in 1977. He started producing custom designed commission furniture in 1972. Bud has been in more than 40 exhibitions and published in more than 25 newspapers, magazines and books.

Detailed Biography

1938- Born in Long Beach, CA
1956- Entered University of Utah School of Architecture
1959- Inherited family welding supply business-sold 1971
1973- Bachelor of Arts - California State University, Fullerton. Field of study: jewelry, metalsmithing, and furniture design.
1974- Apprentice under Art Espenet Carpenter Master Furniture Craftsman
1976- Master of Arts - California State University, Long Beach. Field of study: woodworking and furniture design.
1976 to present-Began designing and fabricating commission furniture.
1982 Began working with Paul Tuttle furniture designer and was resposible for all of Paul's custom furniture pieces until Paul”s death in 2002; Bud also continues his own custom work to this day
